【性狀】白色結晶性粉末；無臭，味微苦。本品在乙醇或中略溶，在水中幾乎不溶；在稀氫氧化鈉溶液中溶解，在稀酸中幾乎不溶。
【藥理作用】本品為化學合成的苯甲酸衍生物。能抑制腎小管對尿酸鹽的再吸收，促進尿酸排泄，降低血漿尿酸鹽的濃度。可用于慢性痛風，對急性痛風無效(因無鎮(zhèn)痛及消炎作用)。又能抑制青霉素類、頭孢菌素類、對氨基水楊酸等藥物的排泄，故與青霉素、頭孢菌素合用，可增加血藥濃度，延長其藥效，并可減少其藥量。臨床用于治療與高尿酸血癥有關的痛風性關節(jié)炎。也可作為青霉素、頭孢菌素治療的增效劑，以提高此類藥物的血藥濃度。

And inhibit the penicillin and cephalosporin, excretion of drugs such as amino salicylic acid, and penicillin and cephalosporin used, can increase the blood drug concentration, extend its effectiveness, and can reduce the dosage.
