　　相轉移催化劑，簡稱PTC，是能將水相(或有機相)的反應物轉移到有機相(或水相)的催化劑，即能使反應在水相和有機相兩相之間進行的催化劑。PTC具有改變離子的溶劑化程度、增大離子反應活性、加快反應速度等性能。解決了過去處于兩相中的反應物難以反應的難題。
　　相轉移催化劑在有機合成中應用廣泛：用于制備R2C型化合物(卡賓型化合物)，進一步制取相應的腈、異腈、鹵代烷、二氯環丙烷衍生物、羥基羧酸以及重氮甲烷等；用于烷基化反應，與傳統方法相比，可避免無水操作等苛刻條件，且產品收率高；也可用于氧化還原反應、酯類水解、氰鹵離子置換反應、縮合反應、加成反應、聚合反應、碳烯環加成反應以及消除反應等方面。 [2]
